My name is Kat, and I'm a rambler.

I like to drive. I like to write. I like to write about my drives. A few years ago, I went on a solo road trip down Route 66. I spent three weeks driving from Chicago to Santa Monica, stopping wherever looked appealing to me, meeting people who have lived along the route for years, camping out in KOAs, and basically having the time of my life. That trip sparked an interest in road trip traveling.

I've always loved traveling, but after college never really had the opportunity to do more of it. After my Route 66 trip though, I've decided to make it a priority, specifically through road trips. I've spent the last few years trying to save up money as a nanny and a waitress, just waiting until the time came when I was able to go on another road trip. That time has finally come!

This summer, I'll be working at a summer camp outside of Seattle. Rather than just flying out there the day before I'm supposed to start work, I figured this was the perfect time to do another road trip. So, I'm leaving New England, heading south, then west, then north up the Pacific Coast to my final Washington destination.

On my last trip, I kept a blog about my travels down Route 66. I was able to keep up with it for about half the trip, but then the demand for posting pictures was higher than for the writing, and with limited internet, time, and energy, posting pictures won over posting blog entries. This time around though, I will make time for both. Feel free to check out my old blog at Kat's Kross Kountry Kamping

Now, I have this site where I will share my adventures and pictures with you all. I kept a blog for a few months on WordPress called Wander to Be Lost, where I mostly wrote about my preparations and concerns about this current trip. I've also included a highlights gallery of my Route 66 trip.

Enough writing, it's time to start driving!
